This week I’ve switched into a cartoon mode. I wouldn’t have imagined how fun this would be if I didn’t try it. At work I’m required to work within realistic proportions, realistic rendering, at least somewhat believable designs and a very serious subject matter. Having Run Freak Run to work on after work has been a blessing; I can leave the computer screen behind and ease into a way of drawing that comes most naturally to me. Not constantly checking that I’m staying within a consistent style. However, this week I pushed myself into the other extreme from what I do at work. And like I said, I wouldn’t have thought that working with such a range of expressive silhouettes, colors and shapes would get my creativity flowing to such an extent as it has done.
